Dr. Samantha Roul, DDS
Dentist

Originally from Frenchman's Cove, NL, Dr. Samantha Roul graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology honors degree in 2013. She completed two years of a Masters of Science program at Memorial, then was accepted into the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at Dalhousie University.

Dr. Roul graduated with distinction in 2017 with the Dr. D. S. Precious University Medal in Dentistry, which is awarded to the student that has achieved the highest academic standing in the dentistry program. As a child she had always dreamed of becoming a dentist, and her goal was to return home to the South Coast of Newfoundland to provide dental care to patients in the area. She currently resides with her husband, Boyd, and two children in Grand Bank, NL, where she is the owner of Grand Bank Dental.

Dr. Roul is focused on the link between oral health and overall general health, aiming to provide you with a thorough examination on each visit and working with you to develop and carry out the best dental care plan to meet your needs and improve your overall health and well-being. Offering a variety of dental services, Dr. Roul is always motivated to help you overcome any dental fears and help you to be healthy and confidently smiling.

Boyd Roul, RDH
Dental Hygenist

Boyd Roul is a Registered Dental Hygienist with Grand Bank Dental. Originally from Lawn, NL, Boyd currently resides with his wife, Dr. Samantha Roul, and their two children, in Grand Bank. He graduated with a Diploma of Dental Hygiene from Dalhousie University in 2018.

 Boyd has been a valuable member of the team at Grand Bank Dental since 2019. He developed a passion for dentistry and enjoys motivating his patients to achieve excellent oral health. In his spare time, Boyd enjoys hunting, playing guitar and golfing.

Rebecca Butler, RDH 
Dental Hygienist

Born and raised in Grand Bank, NL, Rebecca studied for two years at Memorial University’s Faculty of Science before making the move to Halifax, NS, to study at Dalhousie University.

Rebecca graduated from Dalhousie University with a Diploma of Dental Hygiene in May 2023. She was awarded the Halifax County Dental Society Award, awarded to the student demonstrating the greatest proficiency in clinical dental hygiene and the Pickersgill Memorial Scholarship, awarded to the student with the highest overall grade point average from Newfoundland.

Rebecca is excited to be back in her hometown and is passionate about providing individualized, preventative care while ensuring all patients feel comfortable in her chair. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys walking, reading, travelling and spending time with her fiancé, Bradley.

Collette Peach
Administrative team

Collette was born and raised in Grand Bank and joined our office Administrative team in April, 2022.

Collette completed her the Office Administration program at the College of the North Atlantic in Burin, NL. She went on to work in administration at a local retail store for 14 years before working as the Office Manager at a metal fabrication shop for 4 years.

Collette’s favorite aspect of her job is interacting with patients and ensuring their dental needs are met.

When she isn't working, Collette loves spending time with her husband, her two boys and their dog, and enjoys time at her cabin.

Kelsey Brushett
Administrative team

Originally from Bay L’argent, Kelsey began her career in the trades industry in 2015. In 2022, she made a career change and returned to school to complete the Medical Office Management program. After completing a work term with Grand Bank Dental in 2024, she officially joined the team full-time in January 2025.

Kelsey enjoys getting to know and interact with patients, bringing a warm and welcoming presence to the office. When she’s not working, she loves spending time at home with her cat, reading, watching the latest TV series, or enjoying anything related to music.

Michelle Matthews, RDA
Dental Assistant

Originally from Stone Valley, NL Michelle resettled to Fortune as a child. After finishing high school, she completed the Dental Assisting program at the Newfoundland Career Academy in 1990. She has worked as a dental assistant since that time and has been part of the Grand Bank Dental team since 1999.

While Michelle enjoys all aspects of dentistry, surgery is her favourite part of dental care. The most rewarding part for her is the appreciation from patients for helping to alleviate fear, pain, and for helping to make them smile again.

Michelle lives in Grand Bank with her husband Dave. In her free time, she enjoys walking, reading, travelling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Deanne Clements, RDA
Dental Assistant

Deanne was born and raised in Grand Bank, NL. She completed the Dental Assisting program at Keyin College in 1998. Deanne started working with Grand Bank Dental in 2000 and has been with them ever since.

Deanne enjoys helping patients with their dental needs. She has a way of making each patient feel comfortable during their visits and you can often hear her contagious laugh throughout the office.

Deanne enjoys spending time with her husband and her teenage son and their precious dog.

Jake Matthews
Dental Assistant/Lab Technician

I was born and raised in Grand Bank. I completed medical office administration in Toronto Ontario in 2018. I then moved back to St. John’s and went to work at Eastern Health in 2019 and continued with them for 6 years. I decided to take an education leave of absence and returned back to Toronto in 2022 and completed medical lab assistant. I finally made a decision to move back to Grand Bank to be close to my family.

I enjoy working with patients and making them smile and feel comfortable.

In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym and spending time with my husband.

Alicia Power
Registered Dental Hygienist

Alicia Power is a registered dental hygienist who grew up in Grand Bank and started her post-secondary education at Memorial University before following her passion for oral health at the Canadian National Institute of Health in Ottawa. She earned her diploma in dental hygiene in September 2025, gaining a solid foundation in preventive care, patient education, and evidence-based practices.

She is dedicated to providing personalized, compassionate dental hygiene care, ensuring every patient feels comfortable and valued. Alicia enjoys helping patients understand the importance of oral health and empowering them to maintain confident, healthy smiles throughout their lives.

Outside the clinic, she likes walking, reading, and spending time with family.
